This house has nice staggered landscaping that is working with the slope and not against it. I like the way that the windows follow the roof line and the colours they have used are quite nice. I'm not a fan of a visible double garage but at least it's recessed slightly from the main focus of the house and the windows are brought slightly forward.
This is a new house in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, BC, Canada. It was designed by architect Frits de Vries.

A large family home of ...what would it be? the 1960s or 70s I should think... at Sudbury, Suffolk. It looks to me like a merger of two houses. The dynamic, angular lineaments of the roof, the black facing material and the glazing over on the far left ...which somehow gives one an inkling of the community centre or comprehensive school... seem to have been grafted onto a fairly conventional brick, gable-ended house. It's alright in its way I suppose, but to me it seems to belong in Tromso, or the suburbs of Calgary, rather than to rural southern England.
